Your Broken Arrow exterminator can help you get rid of cockroaches if you have them. Cockroaches are pantry pests that make their way into our homes and attempt to eat our food. They can also feed off our water, use our home as a place to stay, and raise their families if allowed to. Cockroaches reproduce very quickly and have very large populations if left unchecked. Keeping them out of your home should be priority number one. So this article looks like a good hard look at cockroaches and their life cycle. With you and Broken Arrow exterminator, we can help keep these insects out of your home.

Indoor cockroaches and the Need for Broken Arrow Exterminator

There are essentially four different kinds of cockroaches that we deal with in the pest control industry. The first two are both indoor cockroaches; the first one of those would be the German cockroach. Probably 75% of the problems we run into are caused by the German cockroach. This brown cockroach is about 3/4 of an inch long and often finds itself in the kitchen and pantry areas low on the wall.

The second kind of cockroach that we find indoors is the brown banded cockroach. It looks like a German cockroach, but it has three yellow bands around the abdomen, making it very distinct. These kinds of cockroaches also find themselves high on the wall, often behind pictures on the wall hangings. Both of these insects feed upon the food that we have, so keeping your kitchen clean is important. Contact your Broken Arrow exterminator for help.

Outdoor cockroaches

The last two types of cockroaches both find themselves outdoors. The first was the American cockroach. These huge cockroaches are about 2 1/2 to 3 inches long. It’s brown in colour and is pretty scary to look at. That size is pretty daunting. Honestly, it scurries away from us, and it’s seldom found inside homes. The only reason it does come into a home is not to eat up our food, but to find a source of water. In many cases, there are plumbing issues that can cause this or the drainage pipe to be broken.

The fourth type of cockroach, the Oriental cockroach, is much the same. This is the only fully black cockroach, but it’s also large and that it’s about 2 to 2 1/2 inches long. This cockroach fights itself often and drains ditches and sewers. It also only follows into our home when it finds moisture there.
