Naturally, cockroaches are brownish or black nocturnal insects that invade our home but can be eradicated by your Tulsa exterminator. They are active at night looking for dinner food to eat. There are at least 4,500 different kinds of cockroaches and they eat things like garbage, rotting foods, plants, toothpaste, and glue. These insects could live a month without food and two weeks without water. They could live for a week without their heads except being killed properly.

Cockroaches are considered to be dangerous as an allergen source and asthma trigger. They may also carry certain bacteria that can cause illness if left on foods. In the world of these creatures, they tend to be reasonably clean insects, while in the human world, they are seen as very dirty creatures due to the fact that they breed, live, and eat in dirty places in our homes. Cockroaches invade our homes and make spaces for themselves. As physical carriers of filth and germs, these pests are a source of food for other animals and play a role in the release of nitrogen used by plants in agriculture. However, we need to eradicate them to avoid their infestation in our homes. Your Tulsa exterminator can help.

Cockroach Nymph

Most cockroaches are oviparous, their young ones grow in eggs outside their mother’s body. The mother roach carries eggs in sacs called “Ootheca”, which are attached to her abdomen. This sac contains between 6 and 40 eggs. After 6-8 weeks, immature cockroaches known as nymphs emerge from the sacs. They are mostly white in color and will gain their brown color as they age. These nymphs will feed and grow through a series of moultings over a period of one year as they develop into adults.

The adult cockroach can live for about 1-2 years. Both young and old can produce multiple cockroaches over a period of one year which can become a big problem. Nymphs resemble adults in appearance and behavior, although smaller in size and do not have wings. Soon after hatching, young cockroaches can damage properties and taint foods with bacteria like the mother adults. These nymphs last for about one to three months, after the final molts they become adults and start reproduction of their life cycle again. Contact your Tulsa exterminator.

The rate of bacteria and the illnesses caused by pests in our homes have become rampant, to avoid these there are measures. Use insecticides to create an invisible barrier for cockroaches who attempt to enter your property, spray around your doors especially front and back along skirting boards and laundry rooms.

Insecticides are of great use at home and on outdoor furniture to deter cockroaches and other crawling pests. Disposal of waste properly, to avoid cockroaches pestering them, looking for tight corners to hide.
