TERMITE LIFE CYCLE AND BROKEN ARROW PEST CONTROL
Turn my choosing in complete metamorphosis. This means that they have three different parts of the lifecycle. Their life cycle consists of an egg, a nymph, and then an adult termite. These eggs are laid by the queen of the colony. Termites live in a large colony with millions of individuals in their period in order to get the task and worked on that needs to be done to maintain the colony, these insects are split into three different groups. The reproductive, the soldiers and the workers.
Once a queen is laid an egg, it’s will be tended to buy the work or termites. Once it hatches, nymph will emerge. A nymph is a smaller version of an adult termite. Some of these neighbors will have wing pads and someone out. At this stage, the nymph can become any of the three different casts. What will determine if these nymphs become a worker, a soldier or a reproductive is what is fed. This is different to the ant, which change caste by pheromone.
Often nymphs with wing pads will find themselves as a worker for time. If they are a worker being used as a worker until they become a full-fledged adult, then they will remain worker for the entirety of their life. But those names with wing pads can at some point become reproductive if necessary. In fact, if this nymph with wing pads separated from its colony, for extended length of time, it will become a queen and start its own colony. SOLDIER TERMITES IN BROKEN ARROW PEST CONTROL
Soldiers are unique in the termite colonies, because they are somewhat larger. Especially their heads are larger and more orange in color than their normal milk is white of the other termites. These large heads and large mandibles will be used to protect the colony in case of attack. Soldiers will remain dormant in the colony until it’s necessary for them to come to life and protect the colony. Workers will feed them while they lie dormant. Once an attack begins, these workers will come to life and head straight to the fray. The large heads will clog up the colonies, tunnels, wherever they engage the enemy. While they are fighting off these invaders, workers will come behind and close up the tunnels behind them. This will steal their fate, but also protect the county.
Reproductive termites are the final cast in the caste system. The queen is the head of these cast. She will spend her entire adult life laying eggs from sun up to sundown for every way for every minute of her life. The queen never sleeps, just lays eggs. In addition to the queen, we have the swarmers. These winged termites are much hardier than their brothers and sisters. Winged termites are released out in the open air in the spring time searching for wind termites from other colonies. The call of the wild has come to the termites.
When these termites find each other, they swarm in a large swarm pairing up with each other. Once a male and female has paired up they will find a place to land, and begin to excavate the royal chamber, or the beginnings of a new colony. They were made here, and the female begins to lay eggs. As the new queen does her job, the king will become a worker until the first eggs hatch become adults. Once these eggs become adults, then the king will no longer be needed. He will die off. A new colony has been born. Contact your Broken Arrow pest control company for more information..
TERMITE SIGNS AND BROKEN ARROW PEST CONTROL
If you think you’re having a problem with termites and it’s time to know what the signs are of these insects. Termites are very susceptible to the open air. If they find themselves out in the open or they will dry out. Drying out causes them to die in a matter of minutes. The humid air underground is safe for them so in order to go up the sides of buildings and trees they must build mud tubes to carry themselves up there. These my tubes can be the first signs you’ll see of a termite infestation.
Also, you may see Swarmers in the spring months. In the month of April and May often these summers will come out in order to reproduce the county. If you have a colony under your house, then the swimmers will come out inside your house. They’ll go towards the light that they find, which is often the windows of your home. Here they will not be able to get outside, so they will die in the window sills. If you find a large number of winged termites in your window, sills, and you may have an issue.
